The National Youth Parliament (NYP) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Baboucarr Nyang, a former member of the NYP, as Chairperson of the Election Committee.
Mr. Nyang brings extensive experience in youth leadership and democratic governance. He previously chaired the NYP’s Elections and Governance Committee during the highly acclaimed 2016 elections.
Beyond NYP, he has served with distinction in the Civil Society Coalition on Elections and the Elections Watch initiative, contributing significantly to civic awareness and credible electoral processes.
His leadership was further recognized by the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS), where he participated in the prestigious Youth and Elections Governance in Africa programme, receiving continental-level training in electoral processes.
As Chairperson, Mr. Nyang will leverage his expertise, integrity, and passion to ensure a free, fair, and credible electoral process for Gambian youth.
